Commitment to the Capistrano Unified School District Community
Capistrano Unified Children First has issued a “Commitment to the Capistrano Unified School District Community” which sets for seven key principles that they believe the next Board of Trustees should adhere to in performing their duties.
While I can not claim credit for creating this Commitment to the Capistrano Unified School District Community, as your elected Trustee, I will abide by these key principles and concepts at all times.

Primary vs. Secondary Interests in Capistrano Unified
As previously stated, we have lost sight of the fact that proper use of taxpayer dollars and education of our children are the primary purposes of Capistrano Unified. Focus on these two points brings a third benefit: sustainable property values.
As a taxpayer, I do not want my hard earned dollars to be spent or wasted. As a father, I want my children to receive the best education possible. And as a homeowner, I do not want to create another reason for my home value to sink further.
With this in mind, as your elected Trustee, I will focus on primary concerns to Capistrano Unified. To prove my commitment, I will not accept the support or endorsement of groups advocating issues of secondary concern to Capistrano Unified, specifically the unions (who represent the interests of teachers and other employees) and the organizations representing trial attorneys (who have been hired by Capistrano Unified in record numbers in the last year alone).
To be clear, I support teachers and staff individually as they are the ones who create the appropriate environment in which my children will learn. As for trial attorneys, I support them individually too because I work and interact with them on a daily basis in my regular job. That being said, both groups do not represent interests of primary concern in Capistrano Unified and I do not wish to be beholden to anybody other than taxpayers, children and homeowners.
