Biography

John was born in Logansport, Indiana and has spent most of his life in Southern California. As a graduate from the University of California, Berkeley, he has a B.A. in Economics. In addition, he also holds a law degree from the UCLA School of Law and a Masters of Business Administration from the UCLA Anderson Graduate School of Management.

Presently working as an executive at Oakley, Inc., John has also worked for a Fortune 500 company and has acted as general counsel and as a corporate officer of a publicly traded company. In private practice, John has represented clients before various government agencies at the federal, state and local level.

In terms of community involvement, after graduating from the Leadership San Clemente program, John was appointed to the city’s Park & Recreation Commission, a role in which he currently serves. In addition, he also a board member of the Spanish Village Foundation and is presently a member of the Budget & Finance Committee for Talega Maintenance Corporation, the entity that manages the common areas of Talega. John is also an active member of San Clemente Sunrise Rotary. In the past John has acted as a board member and corporate secretary of a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the educational opportunities of disadvantaged youth and has also served as President of the Rockefeller West Homeowners Association.

John has been married to Rochelle Alpay for five years and together they have two daughters, Autumn and Saige.
